Yes I can remember the early days of Geocities.

“R.I.P. Geocities. We thought you were already dead.”

That was a bit harsh, was a great place to setup you first website. I did for a community organisation back in 1997 I think.

Those were the days my friends.....

Interesting to read some of the comments

Never had a gun held to my head to play one. The rest is plain denial. Anytime, anyone is blaming something or someone else for their actions they deserve all they get. I cant help myself from being acerbic as I have a disease called HONESTY. I get into all sorts of bother because reality eliminates medication, and I'm stuck with the truth.

I Saw a show on TV once where a spokesman for the industry was adamant that Pokies are a form of entertainment . If that is the case then surely pubs and clubs will introduce the use of tokens which are provided to patrons who drink or eat at these establishments, and can then be redeemed for further services. I wont hold my breath waiting for it to happen.

Gambling is a destructive activity that affects many people. People that have an early win in their life, or those who have an addictive personality. My view is that gambling is evil. Worse than drugs, smoking, or intoxication...because in the end you can only take so much of that. Gambling, there is no limit. You can become glued to the poker machine in a way where you forget everything around you and become mesmorised. There'd one thing the government needs to do: Introduce DEPOSIT ATM's at major venues, by liasing with major banks. This could procure gambling. At the moment, ATM's, alike the note acceptors in venues only accept money from you. You'll find in most cases that you have to persist to get a member of staff to pay you out. This is so you will continue to gamble. The lights, others winning, music & surroundings tempt many problem gamblers to stay there until there is nothing left. With a DEPOSIT ATM, it could potentially save, as funds would not clear immediately, so you couldn't reuse those funds until the next working day. Even as a trial in a minor populated state could show this as an intelligent and extremely helpful alternative. Gambling switches off you brain.

There was a news report about this not too long ago. Certainly does seem to be on the increase.

Wonder what the solution is

Incredibly, one of the oldest remains the most common: The “Nigerian bank” letter scam which has netted $10.5 million from Australian victims.

Hard to believe that there are those being sucked in by such scams.

If it sounds too good, probably is a scam

What do you think about this proposal.

I thought prisons were to deter people from crime. Why bother if you have this environment to live in.

Does not make sense.

If, like me, you really do need to read this article. Far better to be aware of all the risks associated with the taking of Champix
