Robert Pattinson will benefit financial if Twilight goes to the small screen

ROBERT Pattinson reportedly stands to pocket nearly $1.8 million per episode should the Twilight franchise be taken to the small screen.

The British actor is in negotiations with bosses at Summit Entertainment regarding a TV spin-off, according to Contactmusic magazine.

Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire film franchise, would earn $1.78 million per episode if reports about his involvement are true.

Producers hope to maximise the programme’s popularity by launching the series next year after the release of the third movie in the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, in June next year.

The film has grossed more than $250 million in 10 days since its premiere in the US and $26 million in Australia.

Alec Baldwin says his film career is a failure

"I don’t have any interest in acting anymore," Baldwin, 51, told Men’s Journal.

Baldwin, best-known for his Emmy-award winning role in the NBC comedy 30 Rock and the man chosen to co-host the 2010 Oscar ceremony, added: "Movies are a part of my past. It’s been 30 years. I’m not young, but I have time to do something else."

Baldwin began a television acting career in the 1980s and has filmed scores of movies, including the 1988 cult classic Beetlejuice.

He was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the 2003 film The Cooler and stars in the upcoming movie It’s Complicated with Meryl Streep and his Oscar co-host Steve Martin.

Patricia Heaton gets new husband and family

PATRICIA Heaton is your everyday knockabout mum. She runs about every morning frantically getting her four boys ready before ferrying them off to school or one of their various sporting commitments.

She loves being a mum but don’t for a moment think the money she has made from a healthy television career is being used to raise her children with a silver spoon in their mouth.

"There is a line in our show where the kids ask for something and I say, ’Wrong family’," Heaton, 51, says from the Hollywood set of her latest TV offering The Middle, which premieres next Monday.

Heaton has four sons with her husband David Hunt – Sam, 16, John, 14, Joe, 12, and Daniel, 10.
